The 2016 Harvey Nash/KPMG CIO Survey determined that Data Analytics was the most in-demand technology need for the second year in a row. Nearly 40% of IT leaders in the survey expressed concerns about having enough skilled professionals in the Big Data area.
According to a 2017 study commissioned by the Business-Higher Education Forum and PwC, an expected "2.72 million new jobs posted in 2020 will seek workers with skills in data science and analytics."
