How: The Major
Data analytics is a uniquely interdisciplinary major with academic partnerships rarely found in other majors. Data analytics majors receive a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from the College of Arts and Sciences through curricular partnerships with the College of Engineering, the College of Medicine, the College of Public Health, and the Fisher College of Business.

The McKinsey Global Institute describes data analytics as “the next frontier for innovation.” Data Analytics professions are ranked favorably in terms of job environment, outlook, stress and compensation — mid-career professionals can expect to earn a solid six-figure income. In May 2015, the Harvey Nash CIO Survey revealed that the demand for big data analytic skills has grown to nearly six times that of the second most-sought-after skill.
