The Data Analytics program, in collaboration with the OSU Research Commons, offers a series of Lunch and Learn events covering a broad range of interesting and engaging topics related to Big Data, data science, and data analytics.

This year's February Lunch and Learn is sponsored by Citizens Bank. Citizens Bank is a Fortune 500 company with over 150 billion in assets, 1,150 branches and 18,000 employees headquartered out of Rhode Island, but the analytics engine for the bank is headquartered in Columbus. Citizens is looking to expand the current core group of 30 analysts to include a more diverse cohort with degrees across a wide variety of technical backgrounds.

During this Lunch and Learn session, representatives from Citizens Bank will discuss the role of big data analytics in the banking industry. Specifically, the Customer Data & Analytics group will discuss the way they are leading the banking industry by providing millions of customers with real-time personalized solutions. To accomplish this, they work with big data (online, offline, geographic, household, individual, account, transactions) in application areas ranging from traditional statistical modeling to real-time machine learning and decision optimization.

After the Lunch and Learn session, students will have the opportunity to interview for internships and full-time positions as a Business Intelligence Analyst at Citizens Bank. Undergraduate and graduate students can reserve an interview slot on Handshake.
